Fans of Gal Gadot have already got a New Year gift after Warner Bros announced her third film! Yes, Wonder Woman 3 is happening.
The Independent reported that the studio just confirmed officially that Wonder Woman 3 is happening! After the sequel’s release, there were several rumors on the franchise’s future. But now it’s certain that Patty Jenkins will helm another installment as well.
However, the third movie starring Gal Gadot will be a concluding chapter in Diana’s journey.
“Wonder Woman 3”: Early details on the DC movie
As everyone knows, the sequel to 2017’s blockbuster DC superhero film was released last week on the eve of Christmas. And since then, speculations began to surface among the fans over the next part. But now that all the doubts are cleared, they can stay hopeful and joyful.
Wonder Woman 3 is already in the works, as per Warner Bros., and Patty Jenkins will return once again as the writer and director.
“We are excited to be able to conclude [Diana Prince’s] story with our real-life Wonder Women – Gal and Patty – who will return to conclude the long-planned theatrical trilogy,” said the studio chief in a recent media interaction.
The big news comes just days after WW84 debuted on HBO Max and theaters on the eve of Christmas. The 2020 sequel was the first offering in the DCEU since Birds of Prey arrived in February.
Despite a weak start, it also managed to earn decent collections during the first week. But its ratings have come down on major platforms like Rotten Tomatoes. Previously, it was declared certified fresh. Now, the scores are coming down. It may be due to the mixed reactions of audiences going to theaters to watch the title. While some are liking it, others say it’s not as entertaining as its predecessor.
Upcoming DCEU films in the future
Meanwhile, there are many exciting and adventurous movie projects about to arrive in the next few years. Warner Bros. seems to be going forward with great ambitions to compete with Marvel’s MCU slate.
Speaking of upcoming films, then there’s the Snyder Cut of Justice League. It’s about to debut on HBO Max streaming service. Interestingly, Zack Snyder, a few days back, hinted towards a possible theatrical release as well. Die-hard followers of the filmmaker are hoping for a great cinematic experience regarding this one.
Moving further, there’s the highly-awaited Black Adam solo movie. Dwayne Johnson will be seen as the iconic DC anti-hero. Shazam 2 is on the way, bringing back Zachary Levi as the superhero protagonist. The Flash will see a big crossover and time-travel adventures.
Coming back to Wonder Woman 3, there’s no word yet on its shooting schedule.
