World Trigger Season 2 has a new visual and a 15-second commercial, giving a glimpse of an intense confrontation.
The anime’s official Twitter account dropped a new look to World Trigger Season 2. It also teased its upcoming release next year.
The new season’s preview and theatrical release
The tweet comes with a YouTube link to the show’s official preview video.
“Anime World Trigger – The first release of the 2nd season preview video!” it read. “In the video, you can see Garopura attacking the border headquarters and the elite borders who confront it!”
The show will have a special screening, releasing the first two episodes with exclusive footage in 12 theaters in Japan. It will be out on Christmas Day and will run until January 7, per Anime News Network.
However, there is no announcement made yet for the second season’s English language license for international fans.

Returning and new cast
Tomo Muranaka will return to voice the character of Yuma Kuga, along with and Yuuki Kaji as Osamu Mikumo. Nao Tamura will also come back as Chija Amatori, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hyuse, and Yuichi Nakamura as Yuichi Jin.
There will also be a slew of new cast members. Hisao Egawa will join the anime as Gatlin, Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Ratarikov, and Mie Sonozaki as Wen So. Kenjiro Tsuda will also join the cast as Koskero, Ayumu Murase as Reghindetz, and Ryoko Shiraishi as Yomi.
Morio Hatano directs World Trigger Season 2, while Hiroyuki Yoshino writes the scripts. Toshihisa Kaiya handles the character designs, and Kenji Kawai serves as the musical scorer.
The South Korean boy band, Tomorrow X Together, performs its theme song, “Force,” written by Mrs. Green Apple’s Motoko Omori. On the other hand, Kami sings the ending theme song, “Mirai Eigo” or “The Endless Future” in English.
Release date and other details
After the first season’s success, which had 73 episodes and ended in 2016, Daisuke Ashihara’s anime would finally return.
World Trigger Season 2 will pick up where the previous season left off, per Comicbook. Here, the Border will have to deal with a new group of powerful enemies.
For the first time, fans are about to meet the Galopoula Expedition Force. This group has been teased in the Season 1 finale, and viewers are about to see them in action.
World Trigger Season 2 will be out on Saturday, Jan. 9, as part of the Winter 2021 anime season. It will be part of TV Asahi’s NUMAnimation programming block.
