It’s been a long time coming, but an Xbox Series X games showcase is finally happening. Here’s where people can tune in when the event arrives this week.
The road to the Xbox Series X may be long, but Microsoft has managed to keep the excitement going.
Microsoft made the announcement for the next-generation console last year at the Game Awards. Since then, details regarding the new console began to unravel. Almost every technical detail is known about the Xbox Series X.
What people don’t know are the games that would come with the console when it is released. Thankfully, Xbox will finally be addressing that question this coming Thursday, May 7, 2020.
Big games reveal
With E3 being canceled and Microsoft’s plans disrupted by the pandemic, there had been rumors that the company would hold a virtual event this May. And it looks like those rumors were spot on as Microsoft confirms upcoming games showcase on their Twitter page.
“You want to see games for the Xbox Series X? We want to show you games for the Xbox Series X. Check out First Look next-gen gameplay from our global developers partners within #InsideXbox on Thursday, May 7 at 8am PT,” the Twitter post reads.

Several titles were already confirmed to arrive on the Xbox Series X. During the Game Awards, both Halo: Infinity and Senua’s Sage: Hellblade II were confirmed for the next-gen console.
The recently announced Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 were also confirmed to arrive on the new Xbox.
Where can you watch it
The event will air live on Inside Xbox on May 7, 2020 starting at 7:30 a.m. PT / 10:30 a.m. ET / 3:30 p.m. GMT / 12:30 a.m. AEST.
The games showcase is available to stream on Xbox’s channels on YouTube, Mixer, and Twitch. More than that, the event will also be live-streamed on the social media platforms Xbox uses, such as Facebook and Twitter.
Xbox 20/20
During the games reveal event on May 7, the company will also launch the first installment of the Xbox 20/20 program. The Xbox 20/20 is a monthly program that aims to discuss the future of the Xbox.
According to Xbox’s Jerret West, CVP for Gaming Marketing, the program will be a way for the company to engage and connect with its supporters and share with them what’s in store for the brand in the coming months.
This would include information on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Pass, Project xCloud, and even the gaming studio itself.
