Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is this month’s biggest title for the Nintendo Switch. Although it’s a remaster of a Wii classic, the game does pack a lot of new goodies that even veterans are going to love.
Tetsuya Takahashi is one of the people working on the Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition Edition. He recently sat down with Famitsu to talk about the game and some of the features they’ve added to fans. Players of the original have a lot to look forward to, especially with regards to the newly added Future Connected addition.
Future Connected is huge
Future Connected is an additional story content that was not present in the original game. While fans have yet to know what it is about, Future Connected is set a year after the events of the first game.
Fans are speculating that Future Connected sets the connection between this game a Xenoblade Chronicles 2. There are also rumors that the DLC will set the tone for a yet to be revealed sequel.
In terms of length, Takahashi says that Future Connected will be around 10 to 12 hours long if players go through the story directly. However, if players take on side quests and other extra content, it will take up to 20 hours to complete.
Added to the content of the original game, this means that Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive will give players over 100 hours of playtime.
Other improvements
Takahashi also notes that graphical and musical improvements are the main focus when it comes to the development of the master. Due to the limitations on the Wii and the New Nintendo 3DS, the team working on the game had very little to work with.
He says that the music quality in the game has been significantly improved, and players will hear the difference immediately. In terms of graphics, the trailers for the game already showcase just how far the game has come.
Takahashi teases that they could further expand the game with more DLC in the future, but that means they’ll have to sacrifice some of their time while they are working on other titles. One of the titles they are currently working on is the sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition launches for the Switch on May 29. Considered as one of the best games on the Wii, this title will surely be worth especially now that there are a lot of additions to the game.
