Xiaomi has expanded its newly-minted Mi 10 family right to the mid-range segment with the release of the Mi 10 Youth 5G.
Less than a week after its official renders and key specs were leaked in the wild, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G finally goes official. The latest entry under the Mi 10 series comes with mid-range internals, sealed on flagship-worthy design and camera nuances.
A camera-centric mid-range powerhouse
Initially expected to be a rebranded Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite 5G, the Mi 10 Youth 5G boasts distinctive features that ultimately make this phone more than “rebrand.” For instance, the phone sports a periscope zoom camera on its rear.
Apart from its defining periscope camera inclusion in its quadruple-camera setup in its rear, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G also comes with a few AI-based camera tricks. Xiaomi equipped the device with the Sky Replacement tool, which analyzes an image automatically then identifies where the sky begins and ends, right before it replaces it with a more realistic look.
Users are also slated to experience the AI Kaleidoscope video feature, alongside an AI Doppelganger video feature, which both add to the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G’s “youthful” appeal. Additionally, users can shoot a video with inset previews from both its front and back cameras. As it is, the output becomes wider and more detailed.
Solid all throughout
The rest of the features and specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G are straight-up upper mid-range. The phone features a 6.57-inch Super AMOLED display, with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. This is on top of its HDR10+-compliant and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 inclusions.
On paper, the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G features a quadruple-camera system on its rear. It comprises a 48MP wide lens which serves as its primary camera. The main camera gets accompanied by an 8MP periscope lens and with 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro sensors as its auxiliary lenses.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G chipset and is coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM options and 64GB/128GB/256GB of UFS 2.1 internal storage tiers. There is also a 16MP wide front-facing snapper that resides in the phone’s notch.
Other key features of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth are its in-display fingerprint reader, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C. It also works on a 4,160mAh battery, with support for 22.5W fast wired charging.
