The Mi Mix 3, launched in October 2018, is noted for its magnetic slider, ceramic back, and notch-less OLED panel.
The global units of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 are now, reportedly, being seeded with the final version of the MIUI 12 software. The latest update, which bears the software version V12.0.1.QEEMIXM brings many changes to the UI, gestures, and Dark mode.
MIUI 12’s version is now final
On paper, the new MIUI 12 software version now features two new swipe-down gestures. Users will now be able to access the Control center by swiping from the screen’s upper-right section. On the other hand, the Notification shade can be opened by swiping down the from the left corner.
The Dark mode in MIUI 12 in Mi Mix 3 has also been optimized, with brightness and color improvements for wallpapers relative to the display mode noted on the changelog.
The new version of the MIUI 12 also brings a new mode for scanning documents in the camera segment. Meanwhile, cool animation effects were added to the status bar, while the screen should now light up with animation.
The said update bumps up the phone’s security patch to Aug. 2020.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 specifications
Touted as the ultimate phone with a slider mechanism, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is one of those devices that don’t need an introduction.
The handset employs a 6.39-inch notch-less Super AMOLED panel, with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. The phone’s display is also HDR-compliant and boasts Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Easily the star of the Mi Mix 3 show is its magnetic slider mechanism. This part of the device houses dual selfie shooters, alongside an earpiece. Thanks to this innovation, users can experience an uninterrupted viewing of their AMOLEDs.
Around the back, the Mi Mix 3 features a dual-camera setup, headlined by a 12-megapixel wide camera. Its auxiliary sensor is a 12MP telephoto lens. In the manual slider of the device are 24MP wide and 2MP depth sensors.
Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chip, with up to 10GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The latter, however, is non-expandable. The phone is also listed with a 3,200mAh battery, with support for 18W fast wired charging. It is also noted for being the entry in the Mi Mix series to feature wireless charging.
Other key features of the phone include a rear-mounted fingerprint reader, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB Type-C. The device also boasts a ceramic back. Its MIUI 12 is based on the latest Android 10.
