‘YS: Memories of Celceta’ scheduled for June release on PlayStation 4

XSEED Games has finally revealed the Australian, European and North American release dates for YS: Memories of Celceta.

YS: Memories of Celceta release dates have been confirmed. The epic RPG game is scheduled for launch on June 9, 2020. Both the physical and digital versions of the game will simultaneously appear on the Australian, European and North American PlayStation Store.

The game was initially released in Japan for PS4 last year but due to certification problems, the western release of the game was delayed. In addition, everyone who has purchased will receive a free PlayStation 4 theme inspired by the game as soon as it is up.

Game details

In addition to the $29.99 YS: Memories of Celceta standard edition pack, the announcement also confirmed that there will be a deluxe edition priced at $39.99. The deluxe edition contains the full copy of the game, an impressive deluxe PlayStation 4 theme complete with arts and music.

The deluxe pack will also include a digital copy of the soundtrack CD of Ys’ 25th anniversary. The soundtrack contains 9 songs from Ys Origin and Ys 1 to 3 as well as 5 MSX tracks.

About the PlayStation 4 version

The Playstation 4 remastered version of YS: Memories of Celceta will be able to support 60fps with full HD visuals and improved gamepad controls.

Following the recently added Japanese voiceovers released on the PC version, YS: Memories of Celceta will be released on the PlayStation 4 with support for both Japanese and English voice options.

PlayStation 4 will be able to play as the mythical adventurer Adol Christin and explore the massive land of Celceta. With the aid of a hefty mapping network, players can easily navigate the tough wilderness of one of the largest maps in the Ys series.

Another impressive RPG

Even without all the extra stuff, YS: Memories of Celceta is an impressive game overall. In general, the Ys franchise series is one of the best JRPGs in existence. However, YS: Memories of Celceta has really developed and improved its gameplay. Now, players will have full control with not just the main character, but with all the party members.

In addition, the game has also added a more comprehensive combo system to play with. Others say that YS: Memories of Celceta has lost the charm brought by the original Ys games and is mostly regarded as a rip off on The Legend of Zelda.

However, improving a game to make its combat system more in-depth is never a bad thing. When it is made as good as Ys, then there is no reason to complain.
