HBO confirmed the renewal of its hit series Euphoria. However, release date remains a mystery amid coronavirus lockdown.
When Euphoria arrived on screens last June 2019, it caused controversy for its depiction of a high school world filled with drugs and violence. However, instead of lowering the ratings of the series, these disputes made the show an instant hit.
As a matter of fact, Euphoria season one was branded as raw, gritty and real because of its explorations on issues like addiction, sexuality, and abuse.
Euphoria renewed for season 2
Long before season one’s cliffhanger ending unfurled, Euphoria was confirmed to be returning for another season.

Upon the series’ renewal, HBO’s executive vice president of programming, Francesca Orsi expressed her admiration for the cast, as well as for the overall show. She stated,
“Euphoria creator Sam Levinson has built an incredible world with an extraordinary cast led by the supremely talented Zendaya.”
Orsi also mentioned that she looks forward to following the show’s complex characters as their journeys continue through the challenging world they inhabit in season two.
Who’s in it
Since Zendaya leads the cast as Rue and her narration guides viewers through the lives of her classmates, fans can bet that she’ll definitely be back for Euphoria’s upcoming season.
In addition to that, the star took to Twitter to share how humbled she was by the news of the series being confirmed for a second season.
Zendaya tweeted,
“Literally just got the call. Can’t say thank you enough for the support we’ve seen, wow.”
While there is no official cast confirmations yet, it is expected that familiar faces will reprise their roles for the season.
This includes Hunter Schafer (Jules), Maude Apatow (Lexxi), Angus Cloud (Fezco), Eric Dane (Cal), Alexa Demie (Maddy), Jacob Elordi (Nate), Barbie Ferreira (Kat), Nika King (Leslie), Algee Smith (Christopher), as well as Sydney Sweeney (Cassie).

More about the upcoming season
There are plenty of story arcs fans could expect in Euphoria’s second instalment. This season would most likely feature the novelty of Nate, the connection of Cassie and McKay, as well as Gia’s growing rebelliousness.
Probably, devotees would also witness Kat and Ethan’s future together, and exactly what happened to Jules after Rue abandoned her on the train. The storyline for the upcoming season definitely looks interesting. However, fans would need to wait a little longer for them to witness these exciting scenes.
Apparently, Euphoria was one of the many scripted shows which have been put on hold due to the coronavirus lockdown. This circumstance will no doubt have an effect on the season two release date.
