Zion Williamson is looking stronger than ever, according to his fellow Pelicans teammate Lonzo Ball.
The NBA will tipoff on July 31, but the fate of the NBA restart is still hanging in the balance. Up to this point, none can guarantee whether the season will push or not. More and more players are testing positive for COVID-19, and the outlook seems bleak.
Major training facilities of teams have also closed down because of sprouting positive cases within team staff and players. Although the situation is far from ideal, some players have taken the time to improve on themselves. Among those is rookie sensation Zion Williamson.
Zion Williamson will come back leaner and stronger
The rookie superstar has only played a total of 19 games in his young NBA career. However, he will already grace one of the three title covers for NBA 2K21. As such, the pressure on him to perform is real and heavy. Barring any injuries, several experts see him as one of the most unique players to hit the NBA’s hardwood.
According to his teammate Lonzo Ball, Williamson is looking stronger. He said,
“He looks amazing. he looked really healthy. he looks even stronger than he was before if that’s even possible… and I look forward to playing with him.”
Zion averaged 23.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in just 19 limited games played. Ball himself was playing high and mighty prior to the lockdown. He averaged 12.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 7 assists for his team. His pass-first attitude has earned him and Zion as the most lethal duo in terms of assists to points conversion ratio.
Brandom Ingram ‘not very confident’
Williamson and Ball’s fellow Pelicans teammate Brandom Ingram doesn’t feel too confident that the NBA restart will be successful. He said that he’d join the team’s departure for Florida on July 8, but will wait and see what happens after that.
The Pelicans are currently sitting outside, looking in the Playoffs with the Grizzlies blocking their way. They are currently three games behind Memphis. Also, they will have to fight tooth and nail with the rest of the teams at the bottom of the West.
Nonetheless, the Pelicans team looks poised and ready to give the Grizzlies a good run for their money. Zion Williamson looks rested and hungry, and veterans Jrue Holiday and Derrick Favors will want to lead this young team to success.
However, should they make it in the Playoffs, they face stiff competition with the Lakers waiting for them for a 1-8 matchup in the Playoffs format.
