Call of Duty developer Treyarch released a statement that underscores their dedication against sexual harassment and moving forward, a month after studio head left after allegations.
Treyarch released a statement on Twitter, talking about the allegations thrown towards their organization. They note that they are moving forward, working towards “a safe, diverse, inclusive working environment” for their employees.
The Call of Duty studio had its head Dan Bunting depart from the studio amidst sexual allegation claims.
Treyarch releases a statement about their situation
In their Twitter account, the statement detailed that they are moving away from the issues that mired the studio. The company is having the same issues as its partner company, Activision Blizzard.

“Our goal as a studio is to make awesome games for the world to enjoy,” said the announcement on Twitter. “Having the privilege to pursue that endeavor is made possible because of Treyarch’s people: we are a studio comprised of smart. Talented, world-class creative professionals who seek to perform at our best.
“Our culture has no room for sexism, harassment, racism, bigotry, discrimination, or bullying. As we move forward, providing a safe, diverse, inclusive working environment so that all may thrive will be our highest priority.
“Everyone at Treyarch is drawn to game development because we possess a deep love for the artistry of video games and the magic that can create moments that matter. This is a moment that matters and it starts by being better.”
Activision Blizzard still mired in controversy
The statement that came from Treyarch comes only a month after Dan Bunting departed the company amidst sexual harassment allegations. Bunting was a subject of an internal investigation in 2019 over claims that go back as far as 2017.
Apparently, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick was aware of the entire situation. There’s also an alleged situation where Kotick intervened with his firing, stopping it from happening at the time. So far, Activision Blizzard became the center of many different sexual harassment complaints.
Up to now, Activision is the center of a massive lawsuit by the state of California over the last few months. All these refer to harassment or mistreatment from the higher-ups. Workers are at strike, with work stoppages and walkouts in a request to change the allegedly predatory system the company has.
Treyarch closed off the post’s replies, expecting a lot of blowback from the very corporate statement they have. The company is in the middle of handling development duties for Call of Duty and its many other titles, including COD: Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War.
