Dean McDermott spoke about the scary experience he had with COVID-19.
Dean McDermott and his family – including his wife Tori Spelling – contracted the COVID-19 virus. All of them reportedly showed varying symptoms after thinking it was just a bad winter cold.
On Instagram, McDermott shared a photo of him playing hockey as he proclaimed it would be the first place he would visit once he gets over the dreaded virus. The Pretty Hard Cases actor also said he had a frightening experience with the disease.
“I’ve got to be honest, this scared the s— out of me. My breathing was so compromised I thought I was going to be put on a ventilator,” he went on. “Slowly turning the corner to recovery. Be safe out there.”
While he, fortunately, saved himself from using a ventilator, McDermott also spoke candidly about the hardest times he had as he tried to beat the disease. On New Year’s Eve, he told his followers he was sick as a dog when he had pneumonia before learning his COVID diagnosis.
Tori Spelling also opened up about the disease
McDermott’s wife, Tori Spelling, also broke her silence following their family’s diagnosis. She revealed in an Instagram post that they have varying degrees of symptoms.
“Nothing is worse than wanting to care for your little ones but feeling so sick you can barely function yourself. I feel useless as a parent. Devastated. A mom is supposed to take care of their kiddos when sick. That’s how it works,” she said.
Their health issues came after Spelling and McDermott started to have tension in their marriage. A source told People at that time that the couple was living separately. Despite the dark times in their marriage, the couple reportedly always gets out of it.
“Tori still has major trust issues. Part of their relationship was never fully repaired after he was unfaithful,” the source went on. “They’ve been living separate lives. They will still have family meals and occasional outings, but it’s for the kids.”
Meanwhile, another source told Us Weekly that their marriage does not have trust at all. This, unfortunately, led to Spelling It Like It Is author to feel trapped in the marriage.
Although they were not in a happy place, they always set their kids as their top priority. Previously, Spelling dealt with McDermott’s cheating scandal in 2014.
