The Lalisa era begins with YG officially announcing a release date for Lisa’s solo album after teasers were released.
It appears that the wait was worthwhile. The Lalisa period started yesterday, August 25. After months of hints that Lisa from Blackpink would be going solo, her label, YG Entertainment, finally released teasers.
Three days ago, we received a hazy photograph of Lisa in the limelight. Her trademark blonde bangs and scarlet thigh-high boots were all we could see. However, we are now obtaining additional information.
On August 25, Lisa released another teaser image, which caused the hashtag Soloist Lisa to trend globally. She’s wearing a red cutout dress with puffed sleeves and long pigtails in the teaser. The dress is also printed with oriental amoeba designs, a reference to her native country of Thailand. Not only that but her debut album is titled Lalisa, which is her Thai name.
The one of a kind soloist
Lisa’s debut single album, Lalisa, marks the start of her solo career. After Jennie in 2018 and Rosé in March 2021, she is the third member of Blackpink to go solo. Following the success of Rosé’s solo single album R, YG hinted that the rest of the group would go solo as well, beginning with Lisa, the maknae (youngest) of the group.
And it appears that Jisoo, the group’s eldest member, will be the last to go solo, following her acting debut in the K-drama Snowdrop.

Blinks and Lilies are also ecstatic because a release date has been set after weeks of pleading for adequate promotion of Lisa’s solo. On September 10th, at 1 p.m. KST, Lalisa will be launched (12 am ET). It will be accessible on Spotify, Apple Music, MelOn, and other major streaming services.
Lisa’s girl crush charms, as well as her powerful rap and dancing routines combined with a dreamy but gorgeous appearance, will be the centerpiece of YG’s Naver press release.
Additionally, for those who were concerned, a music video will be released. Lisa was said to have started filming a music video in July, according to sources. Fans figured it had to be for her solo debut after putting two and two together.
YG later announced that Lisa was filming her solo debut music video. Cheshir Ha, a regular collaborator, and choreographer, also hinted at further details on her Instagram. Lisa’s YouTube dance endeavor, LiLi Film, frequently features her performing to her choreography. However, Cheshir has opted out this time, leaving fans to speculate if Lisa choreographed her debut lead single solo.
Other than K-pop fans, it appears that other sectors are excited for Lisa’s solo debut since we’ve seen posts from HBO and MTV. Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, GQ, L’Officiel, Mint Mag, and Marie Claire Taiwan all enthusiastically tweeted about the Thai idol in their Thai editions.
Other Thai celebrities, such as CLC’s Sorn and (G)I-Minnie, DLE’s, congratulated her on Instagram. Lisa also sent a Facebook record by becoming the first K-pop solo artist to earn one million likes in under nine hours. Several fans also observed that YG’s stock had risen to a new high since 2012, peaking at 63.3k won on August 26.
