Ellen DeGeneres could’ve, allegedly, avoided the slew of “mean girl” criticisms if only she listened to Portia de Rossi.
Woman’s Day recently suggested that everything could be over for Ellen DeGeneres. An unnamed source told the tabloid that a lot of people are worried about the comedian’s professional future. The source said that the bad press might encourage DeGeneres to quit her talk show. However, no concrete pieces of evidence can confirm that these hearsays are correct as of this writing.
“It’s crisis time for Ellen, who is seriously considering stepping down. She’s stuck in a contract for another year, but these mean girl stories aren’t going away,” the unnamed source said, as per Woman’s Day.
Portia de Rossi allegedly wants Ellen DeGeneres to slow down
The insider also claimed that de Rossi is on board with DeGeneres’ plan to quit the Ellen Show. The Scandal actress has been encouraging her wife to quit the program for months.
“Portia desperately wants her to slow down, so there are a lot of good reasons to walk away – and now there’s one very reason to as well,” the source said.
The insider’s claim seemingly suggests that DeGeneres could’ve avoided the mean girl criticisms if she listened to her wife’s request early on. But since she didn’t, the funny woman must now endure the criticisms.
Is Ellen DeGeneres looking for a possible replacement?
Other tabloids have also claimed that Ellen DeGeneres is already scouting for a possible new host for the Ellen Show. Some of the names that are being thrown around include Ellie Kemper, Chrissy Teigen, Kristen Bell, Neil Patrick Harris, and more.
However, one should take the claims made by the tabloid with a grain of salt. DeGeneres isn’t quitting her long-running talk show. And she isn’t also looking for a possible replacement.
The comedian’s talk show isn’t also going to be canceled despite a sudden drop in ratings. Producers previously confirmed that the cancelation rumors are all false.
DeGeneres hasn’t also shown any signs that she’s slowing down. It was recently announced that she is developing four shows under the Ellen DeGeneres Network.
Portia de Rossi reportedly in sync with her wife
As for her wife, de Rossi has always been supportive of DeGeneres. Jane Greer looked at the couple’s body language last year. She said that they are always in sync.
In one of the photos, de Rossi’s is reaching out to her wife. The couple also has a huge smile on their faces.
“Even when their priorities aren’t perfectly in sync, Portia’s there to support Ellen DeGeneres,” Greer told Women’s Health.
